On June 15 2003 the San Antonio Spurs clinched the NBA Championship by defeating the New Jersey Nets 88-77 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Perhaps the lasting memory of the series is that of Spurs center David Robinson retiring as a champion. In the clinching Game 6 Robinson scored 13 points and added 17 rebounds to complement teammate Tim Duncan on the inside. In the game the Spurs trailed at one point 72-63 before going on a 19-0 run to put the game away and take the series. It marked Robinsons second NBA title with the Spurs. This lot includes a game-worn Spurs home jersey that Robinson used during the course of the regular season in which the Spurs posted a league best 60-22 record. During the course of the season The Admiral played in 64 games scoring 546 points and pulling down 508 rebounds to add to his overall totals. The Nike jersey size 50 shows good game usage with plenty of fraying around the numbers and the team name SPURS across the front. Proper Nike and NBA Authentics tagging appears on the left front tail accompanied by a white strip tag notating LENGTH +4 to reflect the seven-foot-tall Robinsons tremendous size. His uniform number 50 and his last name ROBINSON both appear on the back in sewn-on white tackle twill. The number on the front and back is outlined in black and silver. Robinson has signed the back of the jersey in black felt-tip marker across the number 5 and added the inscription: Best Wishes! -50- Psalm 1:743.
