In 2001 the defending Super Bowl Champion St. Louis Rams marched all the way back to the Super Bowl after posting a 14-2 regular-season record walloping the Green Bay Packers 45-17 in the divisional round of the playoffs and then outlasting the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC title game 29-24. Led by league MVP Kurt Warner at QB and running back extraordinaire Marshall Faulk the Rams were heavy favorites to repeat. But then they ran into an AFC Champion Cinderella team called the New England Patriots and dropped a 20-17 decision.
This lot features a St. Louis Rams NFC Championship 14 carat gold ring given to a staffer whose last name is Kopman. The beautifully designed ring sports a large diamond at center circled with a diamond swirl (like a Ram's antler) and "St. Louis Rams NFC Champions" on top. The ring boasts 130 points of diamonds. One shank reads "KOPMAN" with the Rams and NFC logos on one side while "2001" "29-24" and "Super Bowl XXVI" resides on the other. Inside stamped "Jostens 14K". The ring comes inside its original wood presentation box with "St. Louis Rams N. F. C. Champions" and the Super Bowl XXXVI logo stamped on top. Ring size: 8 ¾.
