Performing in his 16th big league season Rafael Palmeiro matched a career-best with 47 home runs in 2001. Presented here is a Texas Rangers home jersey worn and signed by the Cuban-born slugger during his second tour of duty with the club and attributed in his own hand to home run #43 that year. This white knit button-down garment boasts "RANGERS" arched across the chest in black-outlined blue-on-red tackle twill and "PALMEIRO" applied to the upper back in like fashion. Palmeiro's number "25" is sewn to both the back and front. The sleeves feature blue piping as well as an American League 100th Anniversary patch (right sleeve) and a Texas state flag patch (left sleeve). Situated on the left front tail's interior is a "Rawlings" tag and accompanying flag tags respectively denoting size "50" and "SET 1 2001." Just below the number on the jersey's back is Palmeiro's black Sharpie signature and notation "HR 43". The item reveals evidence of light wear and shows no signs of repair or alterations of any kind.
