With a nucleus that included two of the NBA's best players in Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant and the game's Zen-master head coach, Phil Jackson, the Los Angeles Lakers had an unbeatable combination that led them to a second consecutive NBA title in 2000-01. The Lakers swept their way through the first three rounds of the Western Conference playoffs before knocking off Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Finals in five games. Their 15-1 playoff record was the greatest in league history until the Warriors bested that in 2017 at 16-1 (thanks to an expanded best of seven format in the first round). Presented here is a 2001 NBA Championship ring issued to the Lakers' team psychologist George T. Mumford.

Crafted in 14-karat yellow gold, the ring is made to the exact specifications of the player versions issued to Shaq, Kobe, etc. The face features numerous white and yellow genuine diamonds headlined with two Larry O’Brien trophies made up of white diamonds. In all, the center section consists of two .25 solitaire cut diamonds, twenty-two 1/150 solitaire cut diamonds and 39 solitaire cut canary diamonds in the background. Its striking design elements include the words "Back to Back" under the Lakers logo on one shank. The other shank has the recipient's initials "GTM" above the Lakers regular season and playoff records flanking the Jerry West NBA logo. Inside the band is the "14K" stamping. This exclusive prize comes in size 9.5 and weighs 48 grams, showing very little wear and presenting in outstanding condition. Includes LOA from George Mumford and appraisal letter sent to him when he worked for the Lakers.
