Power hitting first baseman Albert Pujols now playing for the L.A. Angels of Anaheim got his big league start with the St. Louis Cardinals and made his presence felt every season. Averaging better than 40 home runs per season Pujols wore this signed St. Louis Cardinals game worn road jersey during his rookie campaign of 2001 when he launched 37 home runs and drove in 130 runs! For his outstanding efforts at the plate he was even named N.L. Rookie of the Year that season.
Across the front is the iconic "Cardinals" in red on navy embroidery with red birds on a yellow embroidered bat sewn across the chest. Below that on the front is his uniform number "5" in red on navy tackletwill. A large "5" is sewn on the back in red on navy blue tackle twill as well. His name plate also appears on the back with "PUJOLS" done in red on navy blue tackle twill. The official “MLB” embroidered logopatch rests on the back of the collar. The proper “Rawlings Authentic” size “48” and "SET 1 2001” tags are all sewn inside the front left tail. The jersey appears completely original and exhibits light to moderate use with some small staining on the front left chest area. Pujols signed the right side of the front chest area in fine-point black marker.
