From one of the greatest power forwards ever comes this awesome pair of Karl Malone 2001-03 game-worn signature model sneakers from his final two seasons with the Utah Jazz. His Hall of Fame career is virtually without comparison in terms of consistency sheer audacity and performance. His statistics speak volumes: two-time league MVP (1997 and '99) 14-time All-Star 11-time First Team All-NBA two-time Olympic gold medalist and second most points scored in NBA history behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He was voted to the prestigious NBA 50 Greatest Players list in 1996. Malone averaged 22.4/8.6 and 20.6/7.8 points and rebounds in 2001-02 and 2002-03 the last of 18 straight seasons with the Jazz.
These Converse Team Basketball 'Mailman' signature model sneakers feature white leather and purple suede uppers. "Mailman 32" is embroidered at the top with the Converse logo on each side at mid-level. There is an air bubble within the midsole stamped "CONTAINS HELIUM" and a "32" rubber heel panel. The original white laces are present but the Converse insole has been removed likely for a custom-fitted orthotic. "PY1 SAMPLE" tagging on the inside reveals size 16. Malone has signed and inscribed each shoe with his uniform number "32" and "MVP" in 8/10 black marker. The right shoe is personalized "To Dave". They show solid wear with scuffing stretching and proper heel drag. All elements are completely intact as-issued and problem-free. Impressive gamers from a basketball legend.
Includes DocuSigned COA from a former NBA ball boy who erroneously recalled the year worn as "Circa 1990." Malone wore the more traditional looking Converse All-Stars in the 1980's and early 90's before switching to LA Gear and Apex brand signature models the remainder of the decade. He eventually went back to Converse at the turn of the millenium towards the end of his career.
