Presented here is a fabulous Kevin Johnson 1999-2000 Phoenix Suns game-worn road alternate jersey from his final NBA season. It is actually photo-matched to the first two games of the Suns’ opening round playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs. Phoenix won a close 72-70 contest in Game 1 on April 22 and then lost Game 2 on April 25 by a score of 85-70. In a reserve role KJ played 25 minutes in Game 1 contributing two points and six assists. He added four points and three assists in 20 minutes of action in Game 2. The Suns won the series three games to one before being knocked out in the Western Conference Semifinals to the eventual NBA champion L.A. Lakers. The three-time All-Star finished with career averages of 17.9 points and 9.1 assists in his 13 seasons.
This road alternate jersey exhibits moderate game use and comes as-issued with all-original number and letters. "SUNS" appears across the front of the black mesh jersey in orange-on-white tackle twill the same format used for his No. "7" front and back and "JOHNSON" on the upper back. The Suns logo is across the front in screened purple and multi-shades of orange. The jersey has purple and orange knit trim on the yokes and collar and the iconic NBA embroidered logo patch appears on the upper right chest. The dual Champion Size 46 tagging appears at the front tail with flag tags below of "1999-2000" and "Length +3”. Tiny frayed pieces of white tackle twill coming off the front ‘U’ and ‘S’ in “SUNS” determines the photo-match. Awesome gamer from KJ who retired as one of the great point guards of his generation often underrated for his prowess as a floor general.
