This Louisville Slugger P72 professional model bat was game-used by Derek Jeter during the 1999-2000 seasons — spanning two of the Yankees' three consecutive World Championship years — and carries his personal autograph. The bat is a genuine Louisville Slugger 125 Powerized model in P72 specification, manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky, finished entirely in glossy black. The barrel carries the full Louisville Slugger oval branding in silver, "Genuine P72" designation, the MLB logo, and Derek Jeter's facsimile signature in silver — all standard for his personal Louisville Slugger contract issues of this period. "New York Yankees" also appears in silver on the barrel. Jeter has signed in black marker on the lower barrel area, his full signature clearly legible.
The bat shows substantial evidence of hard game use: heavy pine tar coating extends partway up the barrel, ball contact marks and seam impressions are present on the barrel face, and the handle shows cleat and equipment marks from regular dugout use. The barrel surface confirms multiple ball strike marks across the hitting zone. John Taube of PSA/DNA has graded the bat GU 9, and Steve Grad of GRAD Authentication has certified the autograph. This bat dates to the heart of the Dynasty Era — a period when Jeter served as the defining face of the Yankees' most dominant run since the 1950s.
