This 1998 Tony Gwynn home jersey was worn for hit 2811 in his pursuit of the magical 3000 hit club. Written in black ink on the front tag is the date "4-28-98" indicating the date of the hit and "#2811/CHI" indicating the hit number and the team Gwynn was facing. A quick check of the facts indicates that Gwynn did indeed get hit #2811 against the Cubs on 4-28-98. He actually went 5 for 5 collecting hits 2808 through 2812. Jersey has been autographed by Gwynn on the back number.
