The legendary "The Man of Steal" widely regarded as the sport's greatest leadoff hitter and baserunner wore this outstanding Oakland A's home jersey in 1998 the last of his four stints with the team that witnessed his greatest moments and wound up adorning his plaque in Cooperstown. He holds the major league records for career stolen bases runs scored unintentional walks and leadoff home runs. Henderson also holds the single-season record for stolen bases (130 in 1982) and is the only player in AL history to steal 100 bases in a season having done so three times. Henderson was named the AL's Most Valuable Player in 1990 and he was the leadoff hitter for two World Series champions: the 1989 Oakland A's and the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays.

This marvelous Oakland A's home gamer shows excellent game use including noticeable piling on the front right side near the "A" in the script "Athletics" and directly underneath. The shirt has Russell Athletic Size 44 tagging on the front tail along with a small flag tag with fabric content. The "Athletics" script is in green and gold tackle twill on the front same as his No. 24 front and back. "Henderson" is in green and gold tackle twill on a white nameplate on the back; the A's Elephant logo appears on the left sleeve and the Russell "R" embroidered patch on the right. Game use is evident front and back including some buckling to the large "24" numerals on the back and some apparent light fraying of green and gold embroidered stitching front and back. Rickey has signed on the front in blue marker adding the "1998 Gamer" inscription.

Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Rickey Henderson and a COA from Man of Steal Sports Henderson's memorabilia company run by his longtime personal memorabilia manager Mike Weiss. The jersey is part of Bill Albert's Rickey Henderson collection. Albert worked as a staff photographer for the San Jose Giants minor league baseball club (Giants single A affiliate) and did freelance photography for the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's developing relationships with many Bay Area professional athletes. He acquired most if not all of his Rickey items through Mike Weiss and Man of Steal Sports.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
