Kevin Brown emerged in 1998 as one of baseballs best pitchers after leading the San Diego Padres to just their second World Series appearance in history. In his only season in San Diego the powerful right-hander led the Padres to a 98-74 regular-season record after going 18-7 with a career high 257 strikeouts. This lot features Browns 1998 San Diego Padres game-worn alternate navy blue jersey. On the left front tail is a Russell Athletic size 48 manufacturers tag and two strip tags reading 100% POLYESTER and 2 EXTRA BODY LENGTH. Across the chest reads PADRES in blue tackle twill outlined in orange and white. On the back is his player uniform number 27 done in orange tackle twill outlined in white. Also on the back is his last name BROWN in white tackle twill sewn directly onto the blue jersey. Adorning the left sleeve is an embroidered FRIARS patch. The jersey is properly tagged shows slight fraying of the letters and numbers and recalls an impressive campaign that netted the NLCS MVP award for Brown.
