A lock for the Baseball Hall of Fame the resilient Greg Maddux pitched in over 5000 innings over 23 years winning 355 games. He won 15 or more games in 18 seasons. The good fielding 8-time All Star won 18 Gold Gloves the most ever in baseball history. From 1992 to 1995 he won 4 straight National League Cy Young Awards while with the Cubs(1) and Braves(3). And oh by the way he could hit a little bit too posting an average of .240 in 75 at-bats in 1998. The offered Rawlings game used bat dates from that season. It shows light but definite use typical for a pitchers bat. The knob has characteristic Rawlings stampings of model (155B) batch code (577) and year code (98.) Additionally Madduxs number 35 is written on the knob and barrel end in black marker. Pitcher bats such as this are rare.
