Tiger Woods' breakout 1997 Masters victory — a tournament-record nine-stroke margin that announced his arrival as the sport's next transcendent superstar — is the subject of this 1997-99 Grand Slam Ventures "Champions of Golf" rookie card, graded SGC NM/MT+ 8.5. The card captures a beaming, 21-year-old Woods in his iconic red Sunday shirt, club in hand, mid-celebration on the back nine.

 

The detailed reverse recounts the historic performance in full, noting his record-setting 270 total, his sixteen-under-par back-nine play across four rounds, and zero three-putts on Augusta National's notoriously fast, sloping greens, alongside a complete final leaderboard featuring Tom Kite, Tommy Tolles, and Tom Watson among the also-rans. As one of the earliest licensed Woods rookie cards documenting the single most important tournament of his early career, this is a foundational piece for any serious golf card collection.
