1997 was Mark Grace's third and final MLB All Star appearance. The Cubs' first baseman batted .319 with 13 homers and 78 RBI. Presented is Grace's Rawlings '256B' bat from that 1997 campaign. The ash bat is 34 inches long and weighs 32.3 ounces. It is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of outstanding use. Man ball marks and stitch impressions are visible on all sides of the barrel. There is a heavy coat of pine tar on the lower handle and a moderate coat on the mid to upper handle.

 

PSA/DNA's bat expert John Taube found that Grace likely used this bat during the 1997 All Star Game and continued to use it during the second half of the season. Grace autographed the front barrel in bold blue permanent marker. The bat was given a perfect GU 10 for the use by PSA/DNA, while the authenticator's autograph experts authenticated the signature.
