One of the most exciting players of his generation Junior played all but part of one of his 22 seasons with either the Seattle Mariners or the Cincinnati Reds. In 1997 his 56 HR 147 RBI and .304 BA earned him the American League Most Valuable Player Award while with Seattle. His 630 career Home Runs place him 6th on the All Time list. 13 times an All Star winner of 10 Gold Gloves recipient of 7 Silver Slugger Awards and 4-time American League Home Run Champ makes him a lock for the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2016.
Presented is a monumental home run bat utilized if Griffeys prolific 1997 MVP season. The Louisville Slugger model C271 Ken Griffey Jr. professional model bat shows evidence of outstanding use with a professionally repaired handle crack. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right front and back barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers. Also visible on the bat are cleat marks and bat rack streaks. The handle has been padded and spiral taped approximately 7 Yz inches to enhance the grip. Griffey's signature and added notation 'Game Used 97 HR #21' is on the front barrel in silver marker. The bat is accompanied by a COA from Unique Sports from Griffey himself and a PSA Letter of Authenticity for the autograph.
