In 1997 major league slugger Barry Bonds turned in another fabulous campaign for the San Francisco Giants. Starting in left field for 159 games Bonds launched 40 more home runs knocked in 101 runs and for the fifth time in six seasons he led the National League in walks with 145. This lot features Bonds game-worn San Francisco Giants road jersey from that season. The size 48 Rawlings polyester jersey shows light to moderate use and includes proper tagging on the inside left front tail such as the manufacturers logo alongside two strip tags one indicating the jersey size and the other reading SET 1 1997 to reflect set number and season. Across the front of the jersey reads SAN FRANCISCO in black tackle twill letters outlined in orange. On the reverse can be found his sewn-on gray nameplate BONDS in black tackle twill outlined in orange as well as his uniform number 25 in like fashion. On the left sleeve is an embroidered patch the Giants wore that entire season celebrating 40 Years in San Francisco 1958-1997. A great piece of game-used sports memorabilia worn by the greatest home run hitter in history.
