Feast your eyes on Herschel Walker's game-worn Dallas Cowboys helmet from the 1996 season. The 1982 Heisman winner from the University of Georgia started (1986-89) and finished (1996-97) his NFL career with the 'Boys. He made two Pro Bowls as the team's starting running back during his first stint in Dallas compiling seasons of 1574 1606 & 2019 yards from scrimmage (rushing & receiving yards combined). In his 2nd stint in the Big D Walker was used primarily as a kick returner. Herschel was one of the greatest college football players to ever lace up his cleats yet his NFL career left much to be desired especially when you consider the "Tecmo Bowl" numbers he put up over three seasons (1983-85) with the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL) right out of college. A gifted athlete and renaissance man who has excelled in bobsledding (1992 Olympic team) track and field ballet Taekwondo and mixed martial arts Walker is known for his grueling daily workout routine of 1000 push-ups and 2000 sit-ups which he still practices to this day.

This Schutt 'AiR' brand helmet employs the brand's unique foam cushion and air bladder padding system. The silver shell with two Texas star logo decals and blue and white stripe down the center shows solid game use especially the gashes and contact marks on the top and left side. It comes with a gray-coated facemask in excellent condition that appears to be a replacement from the original as the style worn by Walker in '96 & '97 indicates a double bar on top. The Adams brand chinstrap also appears to be a replacement as its black-colored chin guard does not match the white-on-white combination typically worn by Walker during this time. The front bumper is blank which is consistent with Walker's helmets during this era. The "AiR" model name appears inside each ear flap. A blue dymo sticker with "H.WALKER" is present on the rear of the shell between the NFL shield logo and the warning label. Aside from the later-added facemask and chinstrap this game-used helmet comes as-issued in appropriate game-used condition.

Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
