Eric Karros was the model of health and consistency during his 14-year career in the big leagues. After winning Rooke of the Year honors with the Dodgers in 1992, the slugging first baseman put together five seasons of 30+ home runs as well as five 100-RBI campaigns through the millenium in L.A. Not once in that span did he miss more than 23 games in a season for the Boys in Blue. The UCLA alum and longtime SoCal resident is now a fixure on Dodgers television broadcasts, poofy hair and all.
Presented here is a Karros' game worn Dodgers home jersey from the 1996 season in which he batted .260 with a career-high 34 homers and 111 runs batted in. The Dodgers went 90-72 that year to claim a Wild Card spot before falling to the eventual NL pennant-winning Braves. Tagged by Russell Athletic inside the left front shirt tail, the size "48" white knit shirt has a 2" extra length flag tag and "1996" year strip tag sewn in. The 1996 season marked the team's 35th season at Dodger Stadium and that attractive commemorative patch adorns the left sleeve. All letters and "23" numbers are all-original. The jersey displays light wear and presents very nicely. Comes with MEARS A10 letter.
