In 1996-97 center Vlade Divac was playing his first season with the Charlotte Hornets after spending the previous seven seasons battling for the L.A. Lakers. Divac averaged 12.6points and nine rebounds per game in his first year in Charlotte and helped the team record 54 victories before being ousted by the New York Knicks in theopening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Glen Rice meanwhile was Charlotte's small forward and led the team in scoring by averaging 26.8 pointsper contest. A year later Rice was averaging 22.3 points and 4.3 boards per game.
This lot features a pair of game worn Charlotte Hornets jerseys from both players; Divac's road jersey from the 1996-97 campaign and Rice's home version from the 1997-98 season. Divac's jersey exhibits minimal use throughout the teal mesh top and includes proper Champion manufacturer's tagging [size] 48" on the left front tail. The teal road pinstriped jersey reads "CHARLOTTE"across the chest in white tackle twill outlined in blue as is his uniform number "12" just below it. The lower left front tail includes the "Champion" manufacturer's tagging (Designed & TailoredExclusively for 96-97 CHARLOTTE HORNETS Body Length +3" alongside a Champion size "48" tag complete with washing instructions. The reverse boasts his last name "DIVAC" in white tackle twill outlined in blue positioned just above his number "12" in like fashion. Very light wear is evident.
Rice's white home pinstriped jersey reads "CHARLOTTE" across the chest in teal tackle twill outlined in blue as is his uniform number "41" just below it. The lower left front tail includes the "STARTER" manufacturer's tagging (Designed and Tailored Exclusively for CHARLOTTE HORNETS Body Length +3" with attached size "48" and "97-98" year flag tags. The reverse boasts his last name "RICE" in teal tackle twill outlined in blue positioned just above his number "41" in like fashion. Jerseys exhibits very light wear. The official NBA embroidered logo patch appears on the leftshoulder of both jerseys.
