1996-97 was the middle championship season during the Chicago Bulls’ 2nd “three-peat” in the 1990’s thanks largely to the Herculean efforts of the greatest player on the planet Michael Jordan. It was one of ten scoring titles for MJ as he averaged 29.6 points to go along with 5.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists. In the ‘97 Finals Jordan averaged 32.3 points seven rebounds and six assists per game to win his fifth NBA title highlighted by an un-human performance in the legendary “Flu Game.” In each of the six NBA Finals Jordan played he was named MVP of the series. That is pure perfection. MJ was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2009 for his NBA accomplishments and again in 2010 for being a member of the 1992 Olympic “Dream Team.”
Offered here is Michael Jordan’s 1996-97 Chicago Bulls game-worn home jersey from his 2nd to last championship season. On the front left tail is the proper Champion tagging with size “46” and washing instructions. Adjacent is another manufacturer’s tag with the Bulls team logo “DESIGNED & TAILORED 96-97 EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHICAGO BULLS” and BODY LENGTH +3”. On the left chest is the gold-colored NBA embroidered logo. Across the chest is “BULLS” with the iconic “23” appearing front and back; “JORDAN” is arched across the back. All numbering and lettering are done in red-on-black tackle twill sewn directly onto the white mesh jersey. The jersey displays moderate game use with noticeable puckering and fraying of the numbers and letters especially one the back.
