Here is an impressive battle-worn 1995 home gamer from Williams Floyd who helped the San Francisco 49ers win Super Bowl XXIX during his rookie year and spent four solid seasons (1994-97) as the starting fullback. In a 1995 divisional playoff game against the Bears he became the first and only rookie to score three touchdowns in a playoff game. He also scored a touchdown in the NFC title game assisting the 49ers to a 3828 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He finished his career playing with the Carolina Panthers from 1998 through 2000. In his seven NFL seasons Floyd rushed for 1141 yards had 191 receptions for 1427 yards and scored 25 touchdowns. He was a perfect fit for Steve Young's west coast offense and remains the last fullback to be drafted in the 1st round.
The game wear on this garment is substantial with contact marks to the front and back numbers and significant fading to the white screened striping on the sleeves. There are a few tears and holes to the red mesh and at least a dozen team repairs on this beat up gamer. Floyd's No. 40 appears on the front back and sleeves of the shirt in white tackle twill. "Floyd" appears across the back in white tackle twill sewn directly to the garment. Shirt has elastic sleeves; the NFL shield logo is affixed at the bottom of the collar. The shirt has the Wilson label on the front left tail with flag tags of handwritten "46" a second tag that has been clipped. This appears to be a 1994-issued jersey that was worn the following season. Floyd has signed in blue Sharpie on his number on the front of the jersey adding his No. 40 inscription.
