This is one of the most memorable Michael Jordan inserts of the mid-1990s, the 1995-96 SkyBox Premium Meltdown #M1, graded PSA NM 7. It came from the 72-10 season, when Jordan’s Bulls set what was then the NBA record for wins. The Meltdown design catches the wild style of that era of insert sets. Jordan, in the Bulls’ black road uniform, reaches for the ball against a swirling purple and blue background that looks like it’s melting. His name runs down the side in gold foil over a green foil base.

The back keeps the theme going with “Meltdown” spelled out in orange, dripping lettering above an action shot of Jordan in the Bulls’ home whites. Below that, a short write-up describes him as one of the greatest offensive forces the game has seen. The back carries a 1996 Fleer/SkyBox copyright, which dates it to the period right after Fleer bought SkyBox. Insert cards from this era were seeded far more sparingly than base cards, and finding sharp copies is still a challenge.

This one presents well for the grade. The foil is bright, the surfaces are clean and the colors are vivid on both sides. Centering is fair to good, and the edges are solid. With its bold design and Jordan in his prime, this is a great choice for collectors of 1990s inserts. It comes encapsulated in a PSA holder.
