Mark Hardy played 15 seasons in the NHL most of which came with the Los Angeles Kings. He ranks 3rd in team history in scoring by a defenseman his best season being in 1984-85 when he tallied 53 points in 78 games. He was an important member of the Kings 1992-93 team that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals where in Game 3 he delivered a notorious hit on Montreal's Mike Keane that sent him through the boards with enough force to dislodge two panes of glass. His last NHL season was 1993-94 but he just could not stay away from the ice. In 1995-96 while serving as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Ice Dogs of the now defunct International Hockey League he jumped back in as a player when the team fell short on defense. He continued as player-coach with the L.A/Long Beach Ice Dogs for the next three years becoming the oldest active IHL player in history at 39 and helping them reach the playoffs two years in a row. Offered here is Hardy's game worn jersey from the 1995-96 season with the Ice Dogs. The blue/gray Bauer ProWear size 54 jersey has the team logo crest on the front with a paw patch on the right shoulder and an "LA" patch on the left. His No. "5" appears on the back and both sleeves in gold-on-white with his name on the upper back in white. Bauer and IHL patches appear on the back tail. Jersey shows heavy wear with every kind of game-use mark imaginable.
