Featured here is a pair of Paul Kariya game-worn items from his 1994-95 rookie season with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. The Canadian left winger was named to the NHL's All-Rookie 1st team that season. Open for bidding are his white CCM jersey and white CCM helmet from the year he burst onto the scene.

Kariya won the Hobey Baker Award (top collegiate player in country) at the University of Maine and was selected 4th overall in the 1993 NHL entry draft by the Mighty Ducks. He spent his first nine seasons in Anaheim before playing for Colorado Nashville and St. Louis. A finesse player known for his speed and puck-handling Kariya finished with exactly 300 goals and averaged more than a point per game during his career. On the international stage Kariya represented Team Canadas National Team and won a Gold Medal in the 2002 Olympics.

The size 52 CCM jersey has 'Kariya' on the back with his no. 9 plus his number on both sleeves. It shows solid game use with stick and slash marks plus some board burns and paint transfers - mostly on the sleeves. There is a significant team repair on the left sleeve. A rather gaping hole exists on the back number from either the way it was framed and presented in the museum or simple wear-and-tear. Some fraying has occurred on he piping and stitched numbers/letters. The white helmet has "CCM" stamped on forehead and 'MIGHTY DUCKS' decals on each side. The rear has his no. '9' decal in purple. The shell exhibits significant game use full of scratches and some tiny cracks. A CCM manufacturers tag on the inside is dated "1993/03/05" and indicates it is an adjustable size "7 1/8 - 7 5/8". The interior padding is missing but the chinstrap remains intact. It comes with an ITECH visor as well. Both pieces come largely as-issued and problem-free.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
