Recently retired New York Yankees Captain Derek Jeter swung this particular game-used bat prior to his official MLB Rookie of the Year season of 1996. Officially Jeter made his major league debut with the Bronx Bombers on May 29 1995 on the old Kingdome during an away contest versus the Seattle Mariners. He played in a total of 15 games for the Yankees in 95 and made 51 plate appearances. In 1994 and a portion of 1995 Jeter played for three Yankee minor league affiliates: the Tampa Yankees of the Florida State League the Albany-Colonie Yankees of the Eastern League and the Columbus Clippers of the International League. This lot features one of The Captains earliest game-used bats a 33.5 black Derek Jeter pro model Louisville Slugger (#P72) from the labeling period 1994-95. Showing plenty of usage the bat sports multiple baseball contact marks on the barrel with light Mota grip stick solution (light pine tar) noticeable on the handle. Jeter has also signed the barrel in silver marker and added the following inscription: ROY 96. A terrific piece of game-used baseball memorabilia from the early days of the most prolific hitter in Yankees' team history!
Includes game use LOA (#1B08683) from PSA/DNA as well as autograph certification (#X16744) from JSA.
