The Toronto Blue Jays repeated as American League Champions in 1993, becoming the first back-to-back champions since the Yankees did it in 1977-78. In the World Series, the Jays came up against a scrappy Philadelphia Phillies team that fought them tooth and nail. Going into Game 6, Toronto was up 3 games to 2, but Philadelphia led 6-5 going into the bottom of the ninth inning. Just as Philly seemed to have the game in the bag, Joe Carter hit a game-winning three-run home run that gave the Blue Jays the game and their second consecutive World Series championship. This 14K gold ring is the fruit of that victory. Awarded to scout Ben McLure, the face of the ring has “WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS 1993” in raised gold letters surrounding a large diamond mounted on the Blue Jays logo, surrounded by a field of smaller stones. The right shank has the name “McLURE” in raised letters above the American League eagle, bat, and ball logo. The left shank has “TORONTO BLUE JAYS” in raised letters above the 1993 World Series logo and “BACK TO BACK 92-93” representing Toronto’s two consecutive championships. The inside of the ring has the Tiffany & Co. hallmark with "14K 585." The ring displays even wear throughout.
