Before there was Ohtani, there was Ichiro. And before Ichiro made his MLB debut for the Seattle Mariners in 2001, he spent nine years with the Orix BlueWave of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan. With the BlueWave, Ichiro racked up 1,278 hits, 118 home runs, 529 RBI, and an astounding career batting average of .353. Offered here is his true Japanese rookie card from when he debuted with the BlueWave in 1993. Ichiro has signed the card in bold blue marker in Japanese. His penmanship earned a perfect 10 from PSA/DNA, which encapsulated the rookie example as well.
