Canadian Dave Karpa broke into the NHL in 1991-92 with the Quebec Nordiques and played 12 seasons serving largely as a key defensive enforcer. Known to rack up his share of penalty minutes Karpa was traded to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in 1994-95 after a three-and-a-half year stint in Quebec. Presented here is his game worn road jersey from his only full season with the Nordiques in 1993-94 when he began to make a name for himself as a guy you don't want to mess with. The blue CCM jersey is tagged inside the collar with Maska and a size 56 flag tag. The Nordiques team crest adorns the front with Karpa's No. "59" on the sleeves and back in white-on-red tackle twill. "KARPA" is sewn in white on a blue nameplate on the back. The white fleur-de-lis logo is sewn on each shoulder with three more on the lower back. The CCM and NHL logo patches are stitched on the back tail. The sweater shows solid game use with a moderate dosage of stick/puck marks board burns and fraying throughout. There are two tears on the lower front that we attribute to game action. Karpa certainly was no stranger to fighting.
