During NBA All-Star Weekend the dunk and 3-Point contests on Friday night are usually way more anticipated and memory-invoking than the defenseless track meet that occurs in the game on Sunday. That certainly was not the case in 1992 without question the most captivating All-Star Game to date. Featured here is the 92 All-Star game jersey worn by Eastern Conference starting guard Isiah Thomas. This incredible offering from one of the NBAs crowning moments comes with a letter from NBA Commissioner David Stern attesting to its impeccable authenticity.

The league faced one of its toughest tests from a marketing and PR perspective at the outset of the 1991-92 season. Magic Johnson shocked the world that November when he announced that he had contracted HIV and would retire. The miseducation of AIDS at that time lead to ill-conceived responses from many fans players and media members. Yet the NBA stood by Magic and he was voted into the Western Conference starting lineup in spite of these naysayers. Magic came out of retirement for what he called his last ever game and put on a show for the world to see. In the 92 All-Star Game played on February 9 at Orlando Arena the West ran away with a 153-113 victory over the East thanks to Ervins magical 25-point 9-assist performance. In the closing moments Magic engaged in playful one-on-one battles with longtime rivals Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas. The moment everyone remembers is when Magic swished a step-back three over Thomas in the closing seconds as his patented mega-watt smile lit up the screen. As the horn sounded Isiah and just about every other player on the floor embraced Magic putting tears in the eyes of viewers everywhere.

Thomas played 28 minutes in the game and was the second leading scorer for the East with 15 points to go along with five assists. He was happy to hand over the spotlight to his good friend and smooching buddy Magic for this game. The white mesh jersey has the NBA All-Star game logo screen printed in blue and red across the front with Isiahs No. 11 sewn in red-on-white tackle twill. He has signed the front in 8-9/10 black Sharpie. The Champion manufacturers tagging appears on the front left tail with a Designed and Tailored 1992 Exclusively For Isiah Thomas strip tag next to the size 40 and washing instructions tag. A 2 extra body length flag tag can be found inside the left shirttail. THOMAS is sewn directly on the back in blue tackle twill with his No. 11 below in blue-on-red tackle twill. Patriotic piping lines the neck and each sleeveless arm of the tank. The shirt shows moderate game use with light piling to the mesh and some fraying to the front numbers. It looks smells and feels as if its been laundered. Comes from the personal collection of a longtime business partner of the NBA.

Includes NBA Certificate of Authenticity signed by Commissioner David Stern. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
