The 42nd NHL All-Star Game took place at Chicago Stadium the home of the Chicago Blackhawks on January 19 1991. In what turned out to be a lopsided contest the Campbell Conference led by Toronto's Vincent Damphousse's four goals blasted the Wales Conference by the score of 11-5. Former Edmonton Oiler Wayne Gretzky was now starring in Tinseltown for the L.A. Kings and enjoying another stellar campaign one in which he scored 41 goals and tallied 122 assists. Starting at center for the Campbell Conference Gretzky scored the fourth goal of the night for the eventual winners. 

This lot features a 1991 Wayne Gretzky autographed NHL All-Star Game-issued and Upper Deck Photo Shoot-worn jersey. The 100% polyester Maska jersey shows proper manufacturer's tagging on the inside rear collar and sports the "NHL" crest across the front of the jersey in black tackle twill outlined in orange and white. Both "CCM" and the official "NHL" embroidered logo are sewn into the right rear tail. Sporting black stars sewn across the waist (front an back) the jersey includes Gretzky's trademark "99" on the reverse in orange tackle twill outlined in black positioned just below his last name - "GRETZKY" - in black tackle twill sewn directly onto a white mesh nameplate across the shoulders. His Captain's "C" is located on the front left chest in orange tackle twill outlined in black while "The Great One" himself has signed the front right portion of the jersey in black marker and added his uniform number "99" as an inscription. NOTE: The All-Star Game patch has been removed on the right shoulder area. This jersey was sourced by an Upper Deck employee who attended the 1991 NHL All-Star Game photo shoot where Gretzky donned it.
