Multi-sport phenom Bo Jackson showed his mettle throughout his storied professional career(s)but perhaps never more so than in 1991. Having suffered a devastating hip injury in a January 13 NFL playoff game Jackson was waived by his baseball employer the Kansas City Royals just two months later. Five days before the season opener however Jackson was signed by the Chicago White Sox. Though his ailing hip limited him to just 71 at bats in 23 games the determined athlete maintained his strength and sculptured physique in a rehabilitation effort that was to see him return two seasons later. Offered here is a signed White Sox home jersey worn by Jackson during his brief duty in 1991.
The white knit button-down garment features twill identifiers proper Rawlings tagging and a patch commemorating the inaugural season of Comiskey Park II. Light wear. The white knit button-down garment features a black pinstripe pattern Sox angled on the left breast in black-on-gray twill and 8 sewn to the back and right front in like fashion. On the right sleeve a Comiskey Park 1991 Inaugural Year logo patch commemorates the venues opening season. On the tapered left front tail a Rawlings size 48 label is accompanied by a Set 1 1991 flap tag and a tag with a chain stitched T identifier. Jackson has added his autograph in black marker above the front number. All original and unaltered the jersey shows light to moderate wear.
