Craig Biggio's transformation from promising young catcher into one of baseball's most durable leadoff men played out largely across the 1991-1995 window this bat represents. Drafted by the Houston Astros in 1987 and installed behind the plate as a rookie, Biggio was moved to second base in 1992 at manager Art Howe's urging, a shift that unlocked the speed and durability that would define his Hall of Fame career. By 1994 and 1995, Biggio had blossomed into an elite table-setter, highlighted by a 1995 season in which he hit .302 with 22 home runs and 33 stolen bases, earned a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger, and made the first of seven career All-Star teams.
