Addendum: This jersey has just been graded A10 by MEARS.
For most players winning a Championship represents the pinnacle of theircareer. Not Michael Jordan. After winning the 1990-91 Championship Jordan andthe Chicago Bulls’ thirst for the ultimate victory was unquenchable. The nextseason he not only led the team to a then-franchise record 67 wins and a secondChampionship he also took home both the league and Finals MVP awards. Presentedhere is a 1991-92 Bulls home jersey donned by "His Airness" duringthat memorable 1991-92 campaign autographed twice by MJ for good measure.
The white mesh jersey features “BULLS” and Jordan’s “23” on the front inblack and red appliqué. Red black and white ribbing trims the arm and neckopenings. A size 46 Champion label is sewn in the left front tail alongside aChampion/NBA label with “1991” and “BODY LENGTH +3” marking. The back has“JORDAN” in red appliqué arching above his number “23” in red and blackappliqué. The shirt shows moderate game use with some staining on the shoulderwhere Jordan must have tugged at the straps with sweat-drenched hands. Asmentioned Jordan has signed this jersey twice on the lower front in thickblack 8/10 marker and again on the lower back in crisper 9/10 black marker.
Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA that covers both signatures. LOA from MEARS (A10).
Provenance: This same exact jersey was initially sold at auction in 2001 for $21847. According to the auctionhouse’s description it was “signed twice by Jordan who had originally signedthe jersey on the front prior to presenting it to our consignor who in turnhad Michael autograph the jersey on the back for display purposes. This gem waspersonally given to our consignor by Michael immediately following the BullsJanuary 14 1992 game against the Philadelphia 76er's in Chicago at the oldStadium. Our consignor (whose vast collection yielded a number of high qualitymemorabilia lots in our November 2000 auction) is a member of the national sportsestablishment who has close personal relationships with a number of today'sprominent athletes. LOA from consignor. LOAs from Dan Knoll Dave Bushing andSteve Grad." It should be noted that the original paperwork is missing and we were unable to get a conclusive photo-match to this attributed game.
