One of the top players in the decade of the 1980's ended an 18-year National League career with 398 home runs and 1266 RBI's to go with a .265 batting average. Regarded as one of the nicest guys in the game during his career his impact on the National League was enormous over that span with seven All-Star appearances five Gold Gloves four Silver Sluggers and two MVP Awards. Ignoring the bromide about consistency being the hobgoblin of little minds it's worth noting that the uber consistent Murphy had three years in a row hitting precisely 36 homers then hit 37 in the fourth year to cap perhaps the most uniform stretch by a power hitter in history. From the great Atlanta star comes this 35-inch Louisville Slugger Genuine K55 Pro Model bat showing outstanding characteristics and light game use with Murphy's No. 3 written by hand in black marker on the knob and his sterling autograph and "Best Wishes" inscription on the barrel. The bat nicely complements a pair of Nike Air shoes in Phillies burgundy with white Nike Swoosh highlights. The Size 13 shoes have all elements intact including lacings but there are substantial cracks along the soles of each shoe. Attractive Murphy autographs in black Sharpie stand out nicely on the white Nike Swoosh logos on the outside panel of each shoe.
