The 1989-90 season was certainly not the most decorated of Michael Jordan’s legendary career but it may have been his most important. The conclusion of that fateful campaign for MJ saw his Chicago Bulls fall to the Detroit Pistons in the playoffs for the second straight year. After locking up his fourth straight scoring title with a 33.6 ppg average “His Airness” led Chicago all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. Michael was one win away from his first taste of victory champagne but the Bulls fell to the “Bad Boys” in Game 7 at The Palace. It would haunt him the entire offseason and provide the extra motivation he needed to start an unprecedented championship run not just in basketball history but in all of sports. Six NBA titles and six Finals MVP awards in six trips to the Finals over the next eight seasons. Oh and he took a year and a half break in between to go play baseball. History will never repeat itself there.

This offered Chicago Bulls game-worn home shooting shirt was donned by the great MJ during his unforgettable ’89-90 campaign. The white short-sleeved pullover is properly tagged by MacGregor Sand-Knit inside the rear collar with size 44 indicated and a 3 LB" strip tag. Adjacent is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for CHICAGO BULLS” tag along with the crucial “23” (jersey no.) and “89” (year) strip tags. “BULLS" in large ached lettering is screened across the front in red with black outline with his famed “23” on the back in the same fashion. "JORDAN” is screened on the upper back in plain red and the NBA embroidered logo appears on the right upper chest. The shirt is accented in red black and white elastic trim on the waist collar and sleeves with the Bulls logo appearing on each sleeve. The shirt exhibits light but appropriate wear for a warm-up piece and comes in a clean well-laundered condition.

LOA from notable Chicago Bulls collector Alan Meza.
