A magnificent artifact of one of professional football's most celebrated dynasties, this 1988 San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XXIII Championship 10K gold salesman sample ring—complete with its original presentation box—represents a chapter of NFL history that continues to captivate collectors and fans decades later. Super Bowl XXIII, played on January 22, 1989, featured one of the most dramatic finishes in Super Bowl history: Joe Montana's 92-yard, 11-play game-winning drive in the final minutes, culminating in a touchdown pass to John Taylor with 34 seconds remaining to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 20-16.
The face of the ring features three Lombardi trophies made up of CZs, encircled by more CZs. The words "SAN FRANCISCO" and "WORLD CHAMPIONS" are found at the top and bottom. One shank has "TEAM OF THE 80'S" with the Super Bowl XXIII logo and the 20-16 final score. The other shank has "MONTANA" with the 49ers helmet and "SAN FRANCISCO 1988."
