Offered in this lot is an authentic 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series road jersey issued to pitcher Ramon Martinez. The jersey was likely worn by Martinez in the following 1989 MLB season. The jersey features the iconic "DODGERS" across the chest with a red "48" below. The rear of the jersey reads "MARTINEZ" with a large "48" underneath. Rawlings manufacture tagging can be seen sewn into the collar of the jersey. "88 W.S." and "SET 2 1988" can also be seen on the collar tagging. This exemplar shows evidence of game use and wash wear as well as puckering on the twill and loose threads throughout. Martinez had an excellent 14-year MLB career primarily with the Dodgers beginning in 1988. This rookie era jersey is about as fine as an example as you will find on the market. The jersey is accompanied by a full LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (Cert. #: 211203M5).
