Beautiful 14K gold 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers World Championship pendant given to the wife of long time Dodger scout Don Gutteridge. The Dodgers defeated the Athletics 4 games to 1 in the 1988 World Series. Large real diamond atop a Dodger blue stone forms the design on the top with "1988 WORLD CHAMPION DODGERS" and a ring of smaller diamonds surrounding. Gold pendant is stamped "Helen J. Gutteridge 14K" on the back. Gutteridge spent a lifetime in baseball as a player coach manager and scout. For 12 years he performed as a player in the big leagues being both a member of the famed St. Louis Cardinals gas house gang in the 1930's and also for the St. Louis Browns in 1944 when they won their only American League pennant. He also played for the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates. He briefly managed the Chicago White Sox in 19691970. In his later years he became a scout a position he held with the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1975 through his retirement in 1992. A very attractive piece!
