Here are three game-worn jerseys from three important members of the standout Oakland Athletics teams from 1987-91. Luis Polonia was a solid hitter with great speed for a half-dozen clubs in a 12-year career that began in 1987; this striking game-worn Athletics home white button-down jersey was from his third major league season when he was an integral part of the American League Championship club in 1989. The shirt has the appropriate Rawlings tagging (Size 40) on the inside of the left tail with adjacent Set 1 1989 flag tag. Athletics is scripted across the front in green on gold tackle twill the same fashion used for his No. 22 front and back. Polonia is on the back in green tackle twill on a white nameplate. The As Elephant patch is on the left sleeve and the green embroidered Rawlings logo on the right. Jay Howell was a solid relief pitcher for seven teams in a 15-year career from 1980-94; this handsome game-worn Athletics home white button-down jersey was from his final season with the Athletics in 1987 a year in which he earned his second of three All-Star nods during his career. The shirt has the expected iconic red Rawlings tagging (Size 46) on the inside of the left tail with adjacent Set 1 1987 flag tag and a team tag with embroidered 2 87 2. Athletics is scripted across the front in green on gold tackle twill the same fashion used for his No. 50 front and back. Howell is on the back in green tackle twill on a white nameplate. The As 1987 All-Star Game embroidered patch is on the left sleeve and the green embroidered Rawlings logo on the right. After being one of the aces of the great Mets pitching staffs of the late 1980s Ron Darling joined the As late in 1991 donning this handsome grey button-down road gamer. It has the appropriate Rawlings tagging (Size 46) on the inside of the left tail with adjacent Set 2 1991 flag tag. Oakland is scripted across the front in green on gold tackle twill the same fashion used for his No. 17 front and back. Darling is on the back in green tackle twill on a grey nameplate. The As Elephant patch is on the left sleeve and the green embroidered Rawlings logo on the right. All three jersey show game use are essentially problem-free and without visible indication of alteration of any description.
