In 1986 Willie Mays returned to the West Coast to once again lend his services to the San Francisco Giants. Hired that season as a special assistant to the team president Mays likely wore this jersey in a coaching capacity. The white knit button-down garment features proper team name Giants NOB Mays and number 24 in black on orange tackle twill. Black-orange-and-white striped stretch ribbed knit lines the sleeve openings. Wilson (size 42) tagging appears on the front tail above a strip tag chain stitched 24 84 denoting jersey number and year. All original and unaltered the jersey shows appropriate light to moderate wear.
