Not only is Michael Jordan's 1986-87 Fleer #57 widely considered the most desirable basketball card, the colorful issue is one of the most coveted sports cards, period. Produced without much fanfare in 1986, when only Star Company had produced NBA sets in the previous few seasons, Fleer stepped up to the line and sank a game -winner by producing this now highly regarded and in-demand set.
His Airness is pictured soaring through the air in his #23 Bulls red uniform for a dunk against the New Jersey Nets. Perfect centering and razor sharp corners are the strongest attributes of this gem-mint example. PSA has graded over 28,000 copies (and flagged tens of thousands of others for various alterations) and only 326 have earned the coveted PSA 10 grade.
