What more can you say about the most iconic sports card of basketball’s most iconic player? The 1986-87 Fleer #57 Michael Jordan card is widely considered the most desirable of all basketball cards, the “52 Mantle” of the basketball hobby. Produced without much fanfare in 1986, when only Star Company had produced NBA sets in the previous few seasons, Fleer stepped up to the line and sank a game winning free-throw by producing this now highly regarded and in-demand set.
The #57 Jordan card, where he is pictured soaring through the air for a slam dunk against the New Jersey Nets, with Chicago and #23 proudly displayed on his red Bulls jersey, has always been incredibly popular, especially encased within a perfect PSA 10 holder. However, when ESPN’s “The Last Dance” aired in the late spring of 2020, chronicling the Jordan-era Chicago Bulls, interest in MJ went totally through the roof.
