At the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Argentina defeated West Germany, 3-2, in a thrilling final at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Argentina's path to the championship was truly legendary. Diego Maradona’s heroic "Hand of God" goal in the Quarterfinal vs. England, followed minutes later by his stunning “Goal of the Century” through the entire English defense, stole the headlines and made him a mythological wonder around the globe. In the final match, Maradona assisted on the game-winning goal by Jorge Burruchaga in the 84th minute to seal the second world title for La Albiceleste.
This rare and coveted ticket stub is from that epic ’86 World Cup Final on June 29th and has been graded GD 2 (MK) by PSA. The MK qualifier comes from a blue penned "Argentina - Alemonia" on the reverse in the upper left corner, having zero effect on the lovely aesthetics of the obverse’s colorful print and gold background. It presents better than PSA's GD assessment, with smooth edges, nice corners, a few wrinkles and a tiny pinpoint puncture near the lower left corner. As of this listing, only five stubs are graded higher in the PSA pop report. (Only two fulls have ever been authenticated.)
