Presented is a 1986 FIFA World Cup match-issued Brazil National Team away jersey worn by midfielder Elzo Coelho and preserved in the Oscar Collection.
The long-sleeve jersey is constructed in vivid royal blue with a white V-neck collar — Brazil's traditional away kit fabric for the era — manufactured by Topper, the Brazilian sporting brand that outfitted the Seleção during this period. The left chest features the embroidered CBF (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol) crest displaying the iconic World Cup trophy motif above "BRASIL" lettering, framed by three gold stars denoting Brazil's then-trio of World Cup titles. The reverse carries an applied white "#19" numeral in a block outline style. The jersey presents in excellent condition with minimal wear, displaying crisp fabric and vibrant color retention throughout. Long-sleeve blue jerseys were not worn in actual World Cup matches during Mexico 1986, making this a match-issued rather than match-worn example.
Brazil reached the quarterfinals at Mexico 1986 before a heartbreaking penalty shootout exit to France. This jersey comes from the Oscar Collection, connecting it directly to the Seleção's legendary and beloved 1986 squad.
The Oscar Bernardi Collection
This shirt comes from the personal collection of José Oscar Bernardi, better known as Oscar, who played for the Brazil National Team from 1977 to 1986. Included is a letter of provenance signed by Oscar. Most jerseys in the collection were obtained directly through player swaps after competition. Others were acquired via gifts or trade with footballers in Oscar’s wide network of teammates and friends. At age 71, he still resides in Brazil and is ready for his collection to be appreciated by others in the hobby.
