A two-time American League Most Valuable Player Cal Ripken revolutionized the shortstop position and proved to be the most durable everyday player in baseball history. He retired having played in 3001 games (8th all-time) with 3184 hits (13th all-time) 431 career homers (30th all-time) and held or shared 11 Major League or American League fielding records. Ripken was voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot on January 9 2007. Offered here is Ripkens 1985 Louisville Slugger P72 model game bat featuring a dark hickory finish. The bat shows light evident usage in the form of ball marks cleat marks and transfer marks on the hitting surface and barrel end. Ripkens number 8 is written on the knob end in faded black marker. Cals autograph appears on the barrel in silver marker. Nice early-career gamer from baseballs beloved Iron Man.
