From "The Kid" comes this wonderful artifact a pair of game-worn Expo home pants that show the kind of use a Hall of Fame-bound catcher might accumulate in the prime of his career. Carter ended his fabled 19-year career with 324 home runs and 1225 RBI and 10 All-Star selections that would earn him a plaque in Cooperstown and this handsome pair of pants is a splendid piece from one of the genuinely admired players of his era. The pants have the red Rawlings tagging (Size 34) on the inside front right of the waist with adjacent red-embroidered team tagging of "35 25 83" and a flag tag with "Set 1 1983." On the left side of the front waist is "Carter 8" also in red embroidery on a team tag. The pants have the Expos' red and blue elastic striping down each leg and show considerable game usage including light staining and dirt plus enormous wear on the front right knee - tools of ignorance indeed - and several team repairs front and back. Zipper is intact and working and front snaps show a wee bit of wear and slight bleeding on the front. Simply a marvelous bit of history from an important figure from the modern era.
