2001 Hall of Fame inductee Dave Winfield wore this splendid NY Yankees jersey in 1983 a season in which he clubbed 32 dingers and drove in 116. He also won a Silver Slugger and Gold Glove that year. All told the 6'6" star all-around athlete would win 6 Silver Slugger and 7 Gold Gloves in his 22 outstanding seasons that included nine with the Bronx Bombers.
The 1983 road gray jersey is a beauty in all respects with "NEW YORK" across the front with Winfield's number "31" on the back both in navy-on-white tackle twill. On the lower front tail is the "Wilson 44" manufacturers size tag and a gray strip tag in the collar is chain-stitched "WINFIELD 83 1" the numbers denoting year and set. Winfield has signed the jersey in 8-9/10 black Sharpie on the left front tail. Heavy wear is evident in the spotty brown staining and slight fraying. It has no alterations and appears as-issued in fitting game-used condition. Includes LOA from Grey Flannel.
