From the man who came to symbolize the Orioles organization and the season that it all came together herewith an historic pair of game-worn road pants from the Hall of Famer and the 1983 season that brought the Orioles to the pinnacle of the baseball world. It was Ripken's first MVP season as well and arguably perhaps the second-best of his 21-year career with Baltimore with numbers like 27 homers 102 RBI and a .318 average; the only time he put up better numbers was in 1991 his second MVP campaign.He compiled 3184 hits 431 home runs and 1695 runs batted in during his career and he won two Gold Glove Awards. He was a 19-time All-Star and was twice named American League MVP. Ripken is best remembered for breaking Lou Gehrig's record for consecutive games played a record that had stood for 56 years and many deemed unbreakable. In 2007 he was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. The pants have a pair of Sand-Knit tags at the back of the waist: one designates Size 36 and the other the "Designed Exclusively for the Baltimore Orioles." White strip tags with "83 34Z 26" and "8 Ripken" imprinted are on the right front portion of the black inside waistband. A wash instructions tag is located at the back beneath the Sand-Knit tags. Grey pants have the Orioles' orange white and black striping down each pant leg and at the outside of the waist with three metal snaps draw string and zipper intact and working (the white and black snaps have considerable paint loss).
