This rare style Detroit Pistons game-worn jersey comes from former guard/forward Kelly Tripucka who averaged more than 17 points per game in his 10-year NBA career (1981-91) and made two All-Star teams. A standout at Notre Dame Tripucka improved upon his outstanding rookie campaign with the best season of his NBA career in 1982-83 when he averaged a career-high 26.5 points per game including a then team-record 56-point performance on January 29 1983. According to consignor this jersey was sourced from a former Pistons team photographer following a home game that season.
The gray knit jersey in the Pistons’ rare early 80s "Silverdome" style has "PISTONS" heat-pressed across the front in red-on-blue with the same format used for his No. “7” front and back. His name appears on the upper back in blue. Red white and blue elastic paneling adorns the sides armpits and collar. Medalist Sand-Knit size 42 tagging appears on the front left tail. The shirt displays moderate wear with some spot staining (blood?) on the front below his number. Not easy to find these Silverdome jerseys from over thirty years ago in the market especially one from a player of Tripucka's caliber.
