1981 Bob Welch Los Angeles Dodgers game worn road jersey signed by the Dodger right handed pitcher on the front below his number "BEST WISHES Bob Welch" in 8-9/10 blue felt tip pen. Welch went 9-5 with a 3.44 ERA for the Dodgers during the regular season in 1981 then appeared in 3 post season games. Welsh went 211-146 with a 3.47 ERA over his 17 year career with the Dodgers and Athletics. In 1990 with Oakland he went 27-6 with a 2.95 ERA to win the American League Cy Young Award. Button down jersey has script "Dodgers" in blue trimmed in white sewn across chest with his number "35" in red sewn below. Original City of Los Angeles Bicentennial Patch is sewn on left sleeve. "WELCH" and "35" in blue with white trim sewn on back. Size 42 Goodman & Sons tag sewn in back of collar. "1981" and "Set 1" tags sewn into front tail. Jersey exhibits signs of light to moderate wear with some surface wear to the twill fabrics for lettering and mild soiling/staining. Beautiful looking entirely original jersey from the last pitcher to win more than 25 games in a season.
